Two years without a win and finally he is breaking through with a victory. All the self inflicted turmoil. He now once again enters the Masters as one of the favorites. Can he win another major? Will he stay healthy? A lot players who thought he was done are going to take notice. He will never be as dominant as he once was. Still don't know if he can catch Jack. All I know is Sunday's are once again going to be must watch TV.

Johnny Miller and his crew made comments about how Tiger's decision making has become better and now that he has finally won the incredible pressure off his shoulders must be like a drowing man finally reaching shore. I think Tiger with his new caddy may be the fresh start Woods has been striving for. Woods is 1 milion + dollars better for getting back on top so life is very good for Woods going into Augusta for the Rory, Phil, Tiger showdown.

A birdie bump

ON THE GREEN (1:33 p.m.): Boom! Finally gets something going and drains that birdie putt dead center. Really hasn’t had any momentum since the deflating par at the first, let’s see what he can do after his first birdie of the day.

Back to back birdies

Count it. Drains that 4-footer and it’s back-to-back birdies for Woods to finish the front nine at even par. Solid way to bounce back from a rough start,

Nailed the putt. Back to back to back birdied

That is just fantastic from there. Lofted it over the bunker into a small landing area and has a really good chance for a third consecutive birdie coming up.

4 birds in a row. Whoa

Yessir! Drains the 7-footer for birdie and that’s four in a row. We’re cooking with fire now, folks. Don’t go anywhere.

i'd be stunned if he catches Jack, he's 43 yrs old and prone to injury. He's 4 back. What he did at the final round at Bellerive was just fuckin' unreal. Only a brilliant tee to green final round by Koepka prevented him from #15.

This years Majors are at tracks that he's won before;

Augusta- 4-time winner

US Open at Bebble Beach Golf Links, California. A course that clearly suits his eye, has good history . During his career Pebble has hosted two US Open's. Tiger BLEW AWAY the field in 2000 winning by a stunning 15 shots; was he playing agasint Jr golfers? The largest landslide victory in golf major history. In 2010, he finished tied for 4th ...............note Mickelson also loves Pebble, this could very well be Phil's last legit shot at winning a US Open. finished 2nd in 2010, has won at Pebble FIVE times...just winning there a week ago with a flawless final round

The Open at Royal Portrush, N Ireland- just added to the rotation after a long layoff (1951). (Mr McIlroy will carry the weight of a nation that week)

The PGA Championship (.....Glory's Last Shot) , Bethpage Black, New York . Again good vibes for Tiger here; won it in 2002, tied for 6th in 2009

so many threats nowadays in the golfing world, loaded loaded loaded. Of the young guns I really like these two; great ball strikers. Equally important they can putt and are tough as nails. Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm. Thomas is a terrific iron player. Only Spieth has more top 10 finishes than Rahm before the age of 24

DeChambeau's next step is a major, does he have the temperamant ?

Way too many great players out there now and Tiger will never have the mental game he once had. It used to be Tiger thrived under the toughest conditions and major tournaments. Now he is just another good player. There is no dominant player in golf anymore, just a lot of really really good ones. In my lifetime I’ve only seen 2 golfers who dominated. Many had short periods of greatness but never dominated the way Jack and Tiger did. And I doubt we will see anyone dominate like them in the near future. Not to say some won’t be just as good as Jack or Tiger talent wise, but now there are just too many good ones for only one to dominate.

i agree, just can't see another dominate as these two did going forward. Anything is possible but its extremely unlikely. The sport is attracting more people, the very athletic as well. Game is more global. Massive growth in Asia. Technology has been pushed so far forward. Off center shots arent as penal, drivers much longer. That all adds up to a more competitive environment. And as you know there is no other sport as humbling as golf. These two in their prime had a massive advantage off the tee, but that in itself does not lead to Greatness. ........................Between the ears .

crazy sport, eh? :).......4 shots back to start the final round , paired with two studs and it's blue-collar JB Holmes that takes it. Terrific drives at 17, 18 . And a solid lag putt at 18 esp given what happened at 17. Riviera is won , yet again, by a guy that plays a fade.

Thomas- 75
A Scott- 76

J Spieth- 81..........His worst round ever. Been all over the map to start 2019......

Spieth hasn't been the same since was forced into a marriage he wasn't sure about.

'forced'? he's from Texas not India. What's that all about?....since the summer of 2018 he's been way way off. He shanked an iron at Riviera 40 yrds offline. The previous week he snap hooked a driver 180 yds, DJ was stunned (playing partner)

WGC event at Mexico City, STACKED field. With the elevation change Tiger has a weaker 3-wood in the bag

2:03 pm Woods, DeChambeau, Ancer
should be a large gallery coupling Woods and the home country's horse, Ancer.

Like Nicklaus, between the ears is a strength for Woods;

Mr McIlroy decided to decrease time on the Euro Tour and play mostly on the more competitive PGA Tour for 2019. He's looked damn good to start the year. Playing a cut off the tee when needed!! Three tournaments in and 3 top 5 finishes . DIALED in today with a 63 and leads by 1. The prodigy, a 'can't miss ' talent hasnt won a Grand Slam in over 4 years. For me the issue has been the mind, at least the last few years, look at today's quote after his sizzling 63;

[FONT=&quot]“I can’t put pressure on myself, I can’t push it. I’m off to a great start this week, but I literally have taken each and every day this year one day at a time and that’s the way I’m going to treat it not just this week but going forward.”

pressure? The fuckin guy is a prisoner in his own mind. Won the US Open 8 yrs ago at age 21 by 8 shots, lapping the field. The following year won The PGA also by 8. That free wheeling player seems long long gone...................he back?

No disrespect to World #1 Justin Rose but for me THE two biggest talents in golf will be in the final pairing today at Mexico City : Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy. Mano a mano , DJ is 4 clear to start the final round.

Wonder if DJ will change his strategy today, he's been super aggressive. Hole #2 will give us some insight ; on the 375yds par 4 he's pulled driver out all 3 days with yesterday's 369 yd drive to 4 feet @):mad:, eagle. This course has plenty of potential 'blow up holes', .we shall see. McIlroy? FLAG HUNTING, no doubt

Dustin won at Saudi Arabia to start the year, if he wins today he'll be only the 5th player in golf history to have won 20 PGA events before the age of 35.

Dustin's 2018 numbers;
driving distance -6th
greens in regulation- 9th
birdies- 1st
scoring- 68.98 1st

won THREE times on tour, BUT had a 4-shot headed to the weekend at The US Open and folded

DJ's career 20th PGA Tour win was a virtuoso performance , LAPPING the field. If it wasn't for Rory he would have win this tournament by 10 shots. ............A casual walk in the park 66 today , busting high fades off the tee and hitting wedges into greens, lol. DJ use to hit a draw off the tee, it was Butch Harmon who planted the seed years ago of the power fade. When DJ realized more control with the fade? all over. A new man. Left side of the course eliminated

CONGRATS DJ wins by SIX!!!!!!!

The Tour heads to Florida: The Honda, Bayhill and The Player's Championship..............before heading to Augusta
